PME (Peanut Maturity Estimator) is a software designed to help farmers on decision-making. It standardizes the maturity estimation process by eliminating the subjectivity inherent to the person who decides which pods are mature or immature. It also eliminates the need for manually counting them, resulting in great reduction on time spent with the procedure.
PME is meant to be used as a complementing tool to the "Hull Scrape" method of scraping the pods with water under pressure.
If peanut harvest is started on the wrong maturation degree, economic losses can be very significant. Thus, PME is a must-have tool for farmers to decide wether to start harvesting or not.
